On the last Sunday of each month, our Young Adults group will have a meal together. With the Barbees being out of town and unavailable to host this event, the group has decided to meet across the street from the church at In-N-Out to share time together over a meal.

This summer, we invite you to join us for a Children’s Movie Night, held once a month for free at Canyon Church in our auditorium (Building 2). Popcorn and water will be provided. Children may bring other snacks if desired.

Our movie for July will be the animated film Ice Age and will be held on Friday, July 17 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. This film is rated PG. You can click here to read a parent guide about the movie.

You’re invited to join us the evening of Monday, July 13 for a night of worship and fellowship with a concert by the talented a cappella singing group “Won by One.”

Won By One is made up of six students from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Members are chosen by audition each year and must demonstrate musical ability, academic excellence, personality, and spiritual commitment.  We encourage you to check out their music on iTunes or Spotify.

Afterwards we’ll have some time to visit and enjoy refreshments. Please bring a sweet treat to share. The students will also be available afterwards to answer any questions about the educational opportunities offered at Pepperdine.

Canyon Church has thoroughly enjoyed hosting this group in the past and we know our time together will be glorifying to God and a blessing for all.  We encourage you to make plans join us and invite a friend to come with you!

Canyon will be hosting an area-wide youth event for local 6th-12th Grade students on Sunday, July 12 at 5:30 PM. Our theme is “Dwell” and this will be a powerful evening of focused worship and silence before God. Questions? Please contact Canyon’s Youth & Family Minister, Carter Milam.

On Sunday, July 5 everyone is invited to stay after worship service for a fellowship meal together, as we also take a moment to celebrate God’s goodness and blessings over the body of believers who have worshipped and served together for the last 23 years as Canyon Church of Christ. This summer our Youth Group will be attending UPLIFT in Searcy, AR from June 13-20. UPLIFT is a summer camp held on the campus of Harding University for students entering the 7th grade through graduating high school seniors. While most campers come with their youth groups, they can also come individually. Each day, students will go to classes and hear speakers, with plenty of time devoted to recreation and entertainment as well. Click here to learn more about UPLIFT.

On Sunday, June 7 everyone is invited to stay after our morning worship service for a fellowship meal together. Please bring a dish to share and enjoy some time connecting with your church family.

Join us for some splash time fun at the Liberty Bell Park Splash Pad on Saturday, June 6 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Come and go as you are able or stay for the whole time. Kids should come dressed in bathing suits and/or water shoes, or clothes and shoes that you are ok with getting wet. Don’t forget to bring a towel and sunscreen too. Please contact our Children’s Minister, Emma Carter, with any questions or to let her know you’re coming.

On the last Sunday of each month, our Young Adults group enjoys a meal together. For the month of May, they will be meeting on Sunday, May 31 after worship service in the auditorium for Laurie’s famous Taco Salad for lunch. Everyone ages 18-30 is invited, especially our recent graduates.  The group will spend some time discussing future plans and there may even be a game or two for everyone to play!

There will be a pancake breakfast and quarterly meeting for Canyon’s leadership (elders, deacons, ministers, and ministry leaders ) on Saturday, May 23 at 8:00 AM in the auditorium.

On Sunday, May 17, during our morning worship service, we will have a special time of recognition and take a few moments to pray over Canyon’s graduating high school seniors. There will be tables set up in the auditorium with photos of the graduates and baskets for each, if you’d like to drop off a handwritten card or letter of blessing. We hope you can join us for this special time for our church family.

On Friday, May 8 at 6:30 PM we will open up the worship center for a come-and-go reception time to welcome our new Senior Minister, Tom Riley, and his wife, Anne. Please feel free to stop by and visit with them and their other family members, drop off any “pantry pounding” items you would like to bless them with to set up their new home, and enjoy some cake and conversation. We hope to see you there!

At Canyon, we delight in the study of God’s word. This summer, we invite you to engage in loving God deeper and connecting with others by trying out one of our new classes, starting Sunday morning, May 3 for adults, teens, and all ages of children.

• Adults - A study of the Book of Colossians will be led by Michael Jenkins in the auditorium.

• Adults - “Merging Hearts & Minds,” a study of Acts 1-5 and Ephesians 4:1-6, will be led by Bob and Laurie Winkler in Room 407 in our Education Building.

• Youth (6th-12th Grade) - “Practicing the Way,” a study using the book by John Mark Comer, will be led by our Youth & Family Minister, Carter Milam in Room 602 in our Youth Center.

• Children (Newborn to 5th Grade) - Classes are offered in the Children’s area of our Education Building. Please contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Emma Milam, with any questions or visit our Children’s page for more information about our curriculum.

• Our Young Adults (ages 18-30) class and our Adult Women’s class are both taking a break for the summer. We encourage you to try out one of our other adult classes.

WEEKDAYS

• Wednesdays, 6:45 to 7:30 PM - Adult Men - “God’s Design for Real Men,” meets via zoom, and will be doing a study with materials from Dr. Chris Harper. Please contact Jay Carter for the Zoom link.

• Our Adult Women’s weekday class is on hold for the summer months. They will begin meeting again in the Fall.

Our classes will help you learn to love God and his Word more and give you a chance to connect with other people. Please contact our church office with any questions about current and upcoming class offerings.

Canyon Church of Christ is pleased to serve our local homeschooling community by being the host location for Ignite Homeschool’s North Valley campus serving their K-12 students.

Ignite is getting ready to launch their 2026/27 school year, and will be having an Interest Night open house at Canyon Church on Tuesday, March 31 starting at 6:30 PM. You will be able to learn more about who they are, what they do, and the heart of Ignite. You will also have an opportunity to meet their tutors and team, get a sneak peek of class schedules, programs, and events they will be offering, and learn about all the ways you can get involved.

On the last Sunday of every month, starting with the month of March, our Young Adults group will have a meal together. For March, the group will be meeting at the Barbee's house after worship services for a lunch with Laurie’s famous taco salad! In preparation for the upcoming LTC event, Canyon’s kids will be helping to lead us during our worship service on Sunday, March 29 at 10:30 AM. They will be reading Scripture, leading prayers, and helping our praise team lead us in song. This will be a wonderful opportunity to edify each other, be encouraged by our children, and be an encouragement to them in return. We hope you can join us as we celebrate the beauty of God’s intergenerational church family.
