Once we are done, all who are able are invited to join us for Samaritan Sunday! Samaritan Sunday is an opportunity to serve the practical needs of those in the surrounding neighborhoods, or at members’ homes, or projects at the church building and will take place on the first Sunday of the quarter. For the kick-off of Samaritan Sunday in April, we will be pulling weeds for some neighbors. So wear comfortable clothes and bring gardening gloves and tools.

We invite you to join us on the evening of Easter Sunday at 6:00 PM for a free showing of the movie "Risen" on our big screen TVs in our main auditorium. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. On Saturday, March 2, Canyon's Children's Ministry will gather at the Anthem Community Park for some outdoor fun and friendship. Pack your favorite lunch and join us for a picnic and games in the beautiful outdoors. Please contact our Children’s Minister, Emma Milam, with any questions.

All local youth groups (Jr. High and High School students) are invited to Canyon Church for a worship night on February 25 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. We will have a time of worship, listen to a message, and share a meal together.

In preparation for the upcoming LTC event, Canyon’s kids will be helping to lead us during our worship service on Sunday, February 25 at 10:30 AM. They will be reading Scripture, leading prayers, and helping our praise team lead us in song. This will be a wonderful opportunity to edify each other, be encouraged by our children, and be an encouragement to them in return. We hope you can join us as we celebrate the beauty of God’s intergenerational church family.

This spring, we invite you to engage in loving God with your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Luke 10:27) by trying out one of our new classes. We have new classes starting Sunday, Feb. 4 at 9:30 AM, for adults, teens, and all ages of children.

• Adults - Risen Indeed!, led by Shawn White in the Auditorium (Bldg. 2).

• Adults & Youth (6th-12th Grade) - Spiritual Disciplines & Rhythms, led by Carter Milam and co-teachers in the Youth Center (Bldg. 6). This is a combined intergenerational class for anyone from ages 12 years old to adult. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

• Adult Women - Covenants, Feasts & Festivals, led by Kristine Jenkins in Room 407.

• Children (5th Grade to Newborn) - Classes are offered in the Children’s area of our Education Building (Bldg. 4). Please contact our Children’s Minister, Emma Milam, for more details.

WHY BIBLE CLASSES?

Maybe you’re wondering why we offer Bible classes, when we already learn about God through our weekly sermons. Our classes are a different type of interactive learning environment where you can go deeper into your study of God and his word. You can ask questions, wrestle with ideas, and learn and grow with others.  Our classes run for 12 weeks, so that also means you can really dig into a topic or book of the Bible in more depth and detail. Our classes are also a great place to meet and connect with other believers and be encouraged by their shared stories and insights.

Junior High and High School students are invited to join us on an area-wide Instagram Scavenger Hunt! Join in a friendly competition with teams of other youth groups from Churches of Christ across the valley. Take photos, use hashtags, and help your youth group’s team win a PRIZE!

This community event is for all ages. Come to the Tramonto Park (located just northeast of our church building , on 33rd Lane and Zuni Brave Trail) anytime from 5-10 PM to enjoy decorated Christmas trees, take pictures with Santa, watch an outdoor movie, and more!

We’ll be holding a “Parent’s Day Out” opportunity on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. Parents can drop their children off in our children’s area and take advantage of some child-free time for shopping, gift wrapping, or even a mommy-daddy date! ☺ Meanwhile, the kids will enjoy a snowball fight, dinner (pizza will be provided or children can bring their own dinner), a Christmas movie, and a winter craft. If you are interested in your child participating, or if you would like to volunteer at this event, contact our Children’s Minister, Emma Milam.

On Saturday, November 18, we will be preparing and serving a Thanksgiving Dinner in our auditorium for 25-30 foster children and 7 staff members of the Happy Acres Children’s Home. Dishes will need to be prepared at individuals’ homes and then brought to the Canyon Church building on that day. All food and helpers must arrive by 5:00 PM. The dinner will begin at 6:00 PM. Please contact our benevolence deacon Al Larson, with any questions about this event.

The Happy Acres Children’s Home is a Christian group foster home. They are located off Happy Valley Road in the North Phoenix area, so this is an opportunity to fulfill needs in our neighborhood and support the foster care community.

Canyon’s Youth (6th-12th Grade) will come together for a Thanksgiving devotional at the Kimmerle’s home on Nov. 12 (Time TBD). Watch for more details in the coming weeks, or contact Youth & Family Minister, Carter Milam.

On Sunday, Nov. 12 we will be having a special prayer service starting at our normal worship time at 9:30 AM. Our elders, deacons, and ministers will lead us in a special time of prayer and communion with God to focus on Canyon’s theme for 2024 - “Resolved.”

Canyon's Children's Ministry will have a Thanksgiving-themed celebration on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 to 11 AM. As a Thanksgiving service project, our Canyon Kids will be decorating Christmas-themed boxes for Youth For Troops. Youth for Troops is a local non-profit in Anthem that provides service opportunities for all ages, with a goal to support veterans and deployed service members. WHY THE FOCUS ON MOSES?

Our Children’s Bible Hour and our Youth class will be focusing on the life of Moses in preparation for Leadership Training for Christ. We are also offering an adult class on Moses so the adults can learn along with the children and connect with and support them.
