The Hands of Love group is dedicated to unleashing compassion in our community! They do so by making tangible items of warmth and comfort for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community who need care, love, and support. The team sews (or knits or crochets) baby blankets, baby booties, bibs, burp rags, quilts, soft toys and more for the expectant mothers and their babies who are receiving care at the local pregnancy centers. They also make beanie hats to be distributed to the homeless and those in need on the Navajo Reservation. During the coronavirus outbreak, the group sewed cloth masks for low-income school children and others who needed them. They’ve also made various items for foster care homes and adult care homes. If you want to learn how to sew, this group is ready to teach you simple ways to get started. But even if you don’t sew, there are many ways you can get involved with no-sew blankets and crafts. Contact group leader, Stephany Parsley, for more details and to get plugged in.
